Or Amplifier
Or Speakers (aside from tinny as hell ones inside the monitor)

And waving bye bye to a bunch of retro joyfulness, including the stylophone! and collection of NGE tapes...

Not a happy bunny about this as you might've guessed. I like having my things around me whilst I'm coding, feels pretty meh.

Why is you getting kicked out of your retro nest?

You havent got a sprog coming have you and it's going to be a nursery?

TBH I'd be over the moon if I was losing my cupboard for a new bin lid!

I used to be happy locked away in my bedroom coding every day.
But since hospital time, I've changed my perspective, somewhat.

Nowadays I code on a laptop, in the living room, with people around me. My social life is all but gone, since I'm no longer going outside, and having the little company of mum in the room, whilst I code, makes it feel a little less depressingly lonely.

Perhaps see this as a time to change your coding habits. Grab a cheap laptop, and see where it takes you.
The couch is as good as your desk!

I do have trouble coding on my laptop. Going from 2 x 1920x1080 27" monitors, to one 1366x768 14" screen... well, it's just not cricket.

Ehh, I have my laptops 'n' stuff but I oddly enjoy the isolation from most of the rest of the world when I'm doing it, helps my focus massively.

I guess I'll find out come sunday how much of a change it'll be, just hoping wifey won't be doing the 'whatcha doing' over the shoulder stuff every 5 minutes.

Aye, it's the lil girls nest, although her older brother wants her to be in the same room still.

I've done gamejams in other places away from the house on my laptop but it's a pain in the butt going from the dual monitor set-up to a tiny screen. I can live with it for a couple of days when I need to but not as an on-going arrangement.
