Thanks to a little imagination, very little soldering skill and a couple of spare leds, I now have a fuly functional bluetooth snes controller, which works on windows/mac, ios, android etc.

It's similar to the old BGP100 mod, but far better It looks excellent, appart from a badly cut hole for a USB charger. Imagine a stock SNES controller with the wire replaced by a single clear LED and a micro USB socket an the bottom.

Nope. Can;t imagine it. Perhaps a vid would help?

Sounds cool BTW

Jealous of electrical skills.. One day I'll buy some kind of electronics starter kit!
.. Probably would've been a good idea over the past several months, to be honest..

I too envy those that can tell a capacitor from a resistor and manage to put them in the right place and in the right way!

I used to do electronics at school, but that was 25+ years ago.

I might get around to doing a couple of photos, maybe in a few days. I need to open it up again anyway, I got the a,b,x,y buttons the wrong way around, I was looking at the circuit board from the wrong angle so the Y and A buttons are flipped, as are the B and X.

The Bluetooth SNES controller part.

I don't think I would have the patience to hack around like you do.

I used the guts from a gametel controller, which you can get from £35-£40, which is about the price of an HID-Bluetooth module, plus there's no programming involved. It has the right amount of buttons and works on my phone, ipod touch, ipad, mac, laptop etc. The only (very minor) fault I have with it, is that the firmware updater is windows only. Well, that and the fact that it's not opensource.

Trying this one out again, almost from scratch!
Got an bluetooth module, spend all day trying to communicate with it using an arduino. Finally starting to get somewhere!

Why, what happened to the old one?
Or is this just for kicks?

The old one still works, but doing it 'properly ' might give me a little more control over how and what it does. I'm thinking or perhaps adding anally sticks or a trackball to it, if the Bluetooth module firmware allows it.

Hmmm, The SNES controllers 12 buttons take up all of my digital inputs, can't have that if I want to add extra stuff! I wonder how keypads work, can they accept multiple buttons at a time?

Well, got a set of Wii battery packs intended for this project.
Set one charging, it leaked. Stupid cheap batteries.
