Hype for BlastTrax was super-high on Twitter, and it was looking like it'd sell at least 20-or-copies to those who were banging on about how good it looked.

Didn't.

Marketing's all bollocks.

I tried reaching out to about 50 or so review sites for both android and iOS for Super Grid Run and was met with great reviews from a lot of android review sites, even being mentioned in the top 10 average review scores for android games in 2013 by one in particular.

The iOS sites, all disregarded me and it reflected in game sales, over 1000 on google play, just 50 on the app store, with a smattering on the ouya 'n' gamestick.

It's worth doing imho, but you have to plan things out a while beforehand and just, well, be honest with people, you want reviewers to be on-side with your game over the 100's of other review requests they get.

Indie Game Girl was a good resource for me when I self published Super Grid Run so I second therevillsgames link, it'll be handy.

Going to give this a watch in a few mins when kid's gone to bed.

This marketing thing tho... I have a massively hard time convincing myself that anyone really gives a flying shite about anything I do. If I can't do that, it's always going to be a bitch of a job convincing others.

I think your chopper game looks the bee knees and really want it to do well for you... hopefully doing the "simple" marketing items suggested helps a lot.

I'd quite like to avoid Operation <whatever> as a title, as I'll have those as individual missions.

I've been through lists of guns, ancient weapons, swords, Japanese/Greek mythology, gods, snakes... you name it.

|edit| I quite liked Black Thunder, until I realised:
a) It's a bit near to Blue Thunder
b) It's a theme park in India
