I still remember my mum making sure that she got to the doorstep before the Sparrows pecked out the milk lids.

When I was a kid, and me and a few mates went camping, we would get up early, mosey out of the tent and go "milking", which basically meant swiping peoples milk from their doorsteps, taking them back to the tent and supping them!

Once in a while though, you would be walking up a street, and you would see the holy grail of milking... A pint of freshly squeezed orange juice... Major scramble on to nab it!

Though, karma is what karma does... As when I used the milkman myself as an adult [lol], I'd pop the kettle on in the house, go out, and aye... I had been milked!

Like I said, karma, so never complained, just meant a walk around the shop for a pinta of cow juice!

Best option is some sort of mechanised safe on the front of the house, that recognises the milkman. Possibly via a collar like a cat flap. Maybe hook it up to the mains, too, to refrigerate it..?
Yeah, that’s definitely the way to go.
