Checking In

How are you?

Recently I've been getting a lot of migraines. I'm currently putting it down to all the Framework stuff, since I've had to actually use my noggin' for a change, to solve a LOT of difficult coding puzzles. Hopefully it's nothing more serious than that.

Mum's health seems to have improved, and she's much more herself after her little heart thing a couple of months back. She's determined to get jobs done, and is very much ploughing on as if nothing happened at all.
I do worry, sometimes.. But you daren't stop her!!

We're currently in the middle of completely gutting the main shed. Everything's out, and we're going to be building up a few cheap-ass metal shelving units to help declutter things. It'll make a change from all the decades-old wooden cabinets that are currently in there. I've never liked those..!
Might have to get a skip, though. There's a lot of crap in that shed..

As for the cat.. .. She's her usual "ignore everybody" self. She's currently taken to my bedroom's swivel chair, at night, so I occasionally lean over out of the bed and give her a little stroke. Which she hates. I've had a fair number of hand-scratches for doing that!
Miserable bloody cat..

You could take a week or two of relaxed gaming in Switch or any other lazy activity and then check how your health is.

I'm okay, few things from me really,

1) Lets get the rant out of the way... I'm sick to the back teeth of the weather, I love being outside, and at the moment, it seems like when I'm at work, its nice, and doesnt seem to rain even if cloudy. The moment I'm off, or step out of them turnstiles at the plant, the weather goes to shite, and I'm getting tired of it, blue sky really cheers me up, I feel sooooo much better within myself when they weather plays the game... I just want blue sky and sunny days, if not, just to be able to go out and not have to wear a coat in fear I'll get pissed on by some poxy cloud. /rant

2) I've joined the swimming baths, I like to swim, I'd do the gym, but alas, my right knee doesnt like it. Its basically the knee I knelt on for years while plastering, and anything strenuous makes it hurt. I joined yesterday online, at the Chester-le-street swimming baths, as its on the way home from work. Got my gear, went tonight, and they have a time table, and as such, I was too late getting in... And there was me thinking you could just turn up for a plodge! Still, I can work around the timetable, so no biggy!

3) On top of the above, I've decided to go on a diet as well, I took my mam shopping yesterday, and she said "Eeeeee, your getting fatter", note the 'getting FATTER', not just plain old "getting fat", thought "Righttttttttt, game on", and, I do realise I've acquired additional stock, so, got loads of healthy shite yesterday, and today, I've had 1499 calories in me... And yes... IM BLOODY STARVING!!! I think I could trim that a little more too without feeling like I'm robbing myself of food throughout the day. We'll see how it goes!

4) Still doing odds and sods programming a little thing, enough so, I could justify buying additional updates time for Blide (The Win10 update is the one I wanted)... I'm fleshing it out using Blitzmax, as I have old common code that has plonked straight in, but, its nabbing my interest, if it looks to be something, I can move it over to something else quite easily.

Erm, cannot think of anything else really, nah, that's about it!

5) I was at a Christening on Sunday gone, now, I'm not a religious bloke at all, but, it was my nieces do, little Eve (She's lush, and was as good as gold throughout), anyway, it was the full on service, the church my brother goes to is very happy clappy, they string it out, anyway, if that's peoples thing, thats fair do's, but since it was our little Eves do, I joined in. Anyway, we got to a confession pray thingy, asking for forgiveness for our sins and all that malarkey, I was following it, and then the thought occurred to me "Hold on, what am I asking for forgiveness for, I've bloody done nowt!", so I decided to shut my trap and scan to see if there was any bit of totty in the congregation!

And, like any church do, be it christenings, weddings, funerals... I alwayyyyssss forget change for the collection, and this was no different... But never fear, they have that sorted... You can donate by text, or even better and I thought it was great... Contactless card payment on the way out!!! \o/ How cool is that, lol!

So yeah, thats me... Onwards and upwards!

i'm currently in a cottage in Mablethorpe, with my wife and dogs celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary (well, that was actually on Monday, but anyway...) We've spent hours, and hours and hours walking and playing with the dogs on the beach, but eating loads of crap too, so proper food when I get home and I can't wait!

watched a couple of episodes of the new Lost In Space and like it so far. Watched the new Jumanji movie last night and thought it was a very worthy successor.

So yeah, things are good

3 years ago I bought a couple of hex dumbells and regurarly started training with them. A couple of months later I bought heavier ones.
A couple of years before that I got heavier and now my muscles actually started growing.
When you are light there just does not seem to be any musscle growth.

Last year I also started pushups and situps more often. My lower back pain that I had since my youth dissapeared.

I try to train at least 40 hours a month but I still need to get experienced in routine. I am working my way up to looking somewhat like wolverine or thor

Today I seem to have some pain in my right shoulder and I was planning to do a evening of chinup and pullups. I hope that works out.

My parents are in and out of the hospital every year or so. Kind of worried about that.

@Rockford - Soppy bugger! hehehe Congrats

@Pakz - Not sure how old you are, but yeah, I can feel my body now whinging when doing stuff, you should see me putting socks on, the left one, perfectly fine, the right one, bloody hells fire, thats a tussle! I dont really have any interest in weights or anything, I know plenty of people that do, I'd be perfectly happy if I can get my neck back, lol!

Hope your rents will be okay, if they are going to the hospital, at least they arent ignoring anything and its generally for the better when you approach health like that!

Things are weirdly both looking up and down for me.

Still in a job which will be pretty much secure as houses for a long time. Slowly saving up money for the future, aiming for £2k saved this year all things going well. Getting back into walking to work now the weathers a bit nicer, been reading a couple of actual books of late which has been well.... enlightening shall we say, much to the chagrin of my other half.

I'm doing a lot less coding at home though for games 'n' stuff which I'm not overjoyed about but have come to accept in a fashion. Could it be that ASM is just too drawn out a language for me? Probably. I'll still finish this NES game off though, even if I'm damned for attempting it!

I should probably consider some strength training also. I'd like to be able to easily handle and manouver 33kg weights by October this year.

I Might get back into making some gameboy games again. They were much quicker to code for in C than NES games in ASM.

Aside from me, the kids are awesome and wifeys about to head off on a weeklong weight loss boot camp. I hope it works!

I could definitely stand to lose some weight. .. Sitting around coding all day, and eating nothing but noodles, isn't great!
.. Well, it IS, but...

I am 42.

Maybe you could do some light gym exercises. Like stretching and getting your head down to the knees. I had troubles with socks but since doing additional stretching this is no longer a problem.

Are those dumbell weights? I got a 30 kg single dumbell last year but I still have to get used to the 2x20 dumbells. I still have trouble getting them above my head for 10x times.

@Pakz nope, but I should invest in some heavier weights for this, yup!

Sorta addition to my post in the Newsletter about me being a bit dip shitty lately...

So, I joined the swimming baths, I went lastnight to finish the sign up thing, get me "Thrive" membership card and all that, anyway, the place has changed immense since I last went there, which was about 300 years ago. Now, there isn't separate male/female changing areas, its communal, obviously no complete starkers nudity allowed.

Anyway, I finish signing up and head into the changing rooms, not a clue where stuff is, so, I'm looking for changing cubicles, I spy a row of blue doors and think.. aha... As I go into one, I notice a woman looking at me strangely, whats up with her I thought... Go in, close the door, lock it, look for a hanger bracket at the back of the door, there isnt one, so I turn around, Mmmmmm, no bench to put stuff on, floor is ringing wet, I start to think whats going on here, and then I look up... Aye...

I'm only standing in a bloody shower cubicle arent I, like a bloody divvy!!!

So, I venture out, sheepishly, the woman is still there and I was like "Excuse me, could you tell me where the changing cubicles are, I seemed to have wandered into a shower!"

She showed me, and took great joy in my numbness... I felt like a right prat!
