Socoder -> Off Topic -> Size of a Pixel

I'm not liking modern IT stuff. First we had numbers counting in 1000's instead of 1024's, chopping hundreds of MB's off of HDD's with the same description of their sizes. Now I have to get my head around a pixel measurement having to depend on the density of the screen, rather that how many actual bloody pixels there are!

I appear to have given myself much the same issue with my 3DS Framework..

It automatically scales sprites and primitives down to size, but the positions of those can be either hard coded or percentage based, and it's sometimes a pain to try to remember which I’m supposed to be using at what time!

Grrr..
My own fault..

If the screen handles more than 320x240 I'm doomed!

Once upon a time I used to try and keep up, with a languages new features, new programming technologies, toolchains... You know, keeping in the loop, just pissing about, but playing nice!

They seem to chop and change stuff for the hell of it, like building tools, nowadays, you seem to need all sorts to get from source code to an executable, year later, its changed again and everything you learnt about the tool chain is out of the window because they've decided something else is better, and usually, it means updating this, and that in your project, it builds and you can see that it's processing fuck knows what and your just sitting there waiting for it to finish in the hope it doesn't throw an error, cos if it does, you know your in for a google marathon!
