Lots of Swearing - Making Android Games with C++

Get Started with Play Games Services for C++ on Android says the page.
https://developers.google.com/games/services/cpp/gettingStartedAndroid

And if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, it claims that it was last updated on May 25, 2018

So, why is it, then, that the VERY SECOND LINK on the page, in the Before You Begin section at the top, leads to a dead page that says it's been unsupported since June 2015..

Fos Fucks Sake..

Today I've decided to attempt to get my framework running on Android again, because I'm a sadistic bastard and want to force myself into some kind of mental breakdown.

This thread will either describe the things I've attempted, in a vague attempt to get it all to work, or it'll be a very short post that stops rather abruptly as I throw the laptop across the room.

Android Studio installer..
"Custom Settings" selected.
Get a list of things I can install, like the SDK and the "Simulator".
But no option for NDK, so once it's all installed, I'm going to have to fuck about trying to get that installed.

God damnit..

Ten minutes later
Still watching the installer..

Also, eating a Pot Noodle (Bombay Bad Boy)

The installer has one of those wonderful progress bars that finally reaches the right hand side, only to then start again from the left, and again, and again, and again...

The installer's done, and the Android Studio Project window has appeared.
I click "New Project" and faff about with WAY more options than should exist for "New Project", at which point it then starts doing more downloading and installing.

After all the faffing about, I clicked the [build] button, and ...
"Gradle project sync failed. Basic functionality (e.g., editing, debugging) will not work properly"
The basic "not even started coding a project yet" shell doesn't actually compile.

So, that's where I'm going to leave it for today, because I'm frustrated beyond belief.

Oh, and it's used over 12Gb of my limited SSD to get that far.

A little while ago I noticed the Java updater mention that it is going to be a payed thing in the future. Sometime in 2020.

Do you need to use java(sdk) for android development? When I read that news I realised I would probably never use java again.

That was for hardware manufacturers that want to execute Java. That’s the people being charged.
People who write things in Java may (for the meantime) continue freely.
