Got woken up extremely early in the morning by the tornado sirens going off. Never touched here, but went and hit Mayfield, KY which is not super far from me. So far saying over 100 dead. This used to be a town: Linkage Truly can say know exactly how the survivors feel losing their loved ones. Such a wonderful and beautiful state and wonderful people. RIP for all of those lost and give strength to the survivors, they will need it to pick up the pieces and rebuild their lives in whatever the new norm will be.

Worst such thing in KY history and they are saying the tornado traveled a distance of 270 miles which is a record. This would be too unbelievable to be in a disaster movie. Also took out a nursing home in Arkansas, killed 3 people in western TN and took down part of an Amazon warehouse in Illinois and people are still trapped in there. I knew it was going to be bad when looking at the radar before going to bed. But simply unfathomable, and it was horrid coming through here. I am sure our house is fine, but I am glad I was in the apartment riding this storm out, as this is a cinder block building and very sturdy. |

For perspective, Tornado season is April-June in the USA. 2 weeks before Christmas. Can only imagine those who suffered a loss in this will never have a normal Christmas again without being reminded. Is what is bad when tragedies happen close to holidays. |

You would think, huh? Some people already want to point to "theories" like weather manipulation, which does exist, but forget basic Earth science. The earthquake that caused Fukishima, and the one before that, that caused the Tsunami that wiped out the resort area of Indonesia or wherever it was, both of those quakes were bad enough they affected the axis of the Earth and they affected the rotation of the Earth. That caused weather patterns to change, as well as ocean currents. That is why in Maryland we started getting winters that were closer to what Wisconsin would get. Tornado Alley, shifted its area of coverage and moved further East, and the Tornado months are more random, although tornadoes can happen all year around. Also why place in the UK and Europe have seen such drastic weather changes including tornadoes in areas that never had them before. Storms period are stronger now. We know things have changed, but often forget what caused the changes. We just live here, Mother Nature runs the show. |

Although I earned my merit badge, I am not the asshole people make me out to be. I used to always participate in benefit concerts, and can't really do that in these times. So, this is the next best thing I can do. My income is low enough I do not pay taxes, so this is NOT a tax write off thingy like it is when many do something like this. |
