DevCrunch v.3, wow. Maybe they will bring back the forum? Or perhaps this is related to that resurrection of BlitzCoder, becoming DevCoder? (That ain't bad, maybe I should buy the url).

Jokes aside, this is a good thing. I liked the DevCrunch forums, but the blog was shit. Their real problem is that after they made the site they just never did anything with it, which was a real shame.

Interesting choice of name... wonder what it says about the company...!

Indeed, although it's Tirant, and not Tyrant. Perhaps it says that they can't spell, then?

Devcrunch is coming back... though not exactly as a "cw" or "bc" type site... I've bought the site out and am currently building it from scratch.

Although it may have some of the same features as this site I'm not intending to take out socoder... I've got a list of things that *I* want from the site and those will come first then suggestions will follow quickly thereafter.

and the company name is Tirant (a contraction of tim and grant*).

It will acutally be built, maintained and updated... and It should happen much quicker then last time as there aren't 3 people to coordinate from all corners of the globe

anyway... I probably should have posted that on the site shouldn't i?

well socoder gotthe scoop

Seconded.
The cynic inside me says it'll probably bomb after a few weeks anyway.

|edit| ahh oscar posted while i was typing up my comment, didn't see his response.
Now I have a little more faith in devcrunch! |edit|

to be honest.. it's not really being built to get other people to goto it... i'm doing it because it's stuff that I want to see in a site... if other people like it... hooray if not... it'll still be there

PS: i noticed a little random highlighting i my previous post :S

Since Oscar's doing it, I have more faith in it than I would've had before.
Oscar had previously managed to build up quite a bit of Devcrunch, and it was only once he left it to everyone else that it became Dev-Blog-of-Death.

Just out curiosity, what happened to Cicero? He stopped frequenting #blitzcoder, and his email address from his blitzbasic.com profile bounces.

DevCrunch = We'll have to wait and see what Oscar can come up with.
BB = Official. And it's very very Blitz centric.

GameDev = General Purpose.

SoCoder.. For most people, this too might be Blitz Centric, but I'm trying my best! It's got all the needed sections, and the possibility to expand further as is needed. The main problem, really, is that we've all come from BlitzCoder.
And that's what we all really wanted. So that's why SoCoder looks like it does.

I think what Oscar should be aiming for (my own personal thoughts) is something like this site, but more with a more professional style to the whole thing.
That's pretty much what Devcrunch was to begin with, and it seemed to do the job.
With showcase+co, it'll look even more the part, and really.. that's all it needs to be.
But then it'll have GameDev to contend with.

I wonder how many people still bother to check Devcrunch out, though.

Perhaps adding a small anonymous chatbox, until the site's ready, might help give us an idea of how many are still there, and are waiting the new site*.

This looks like the third change that they have gone through.
All these changes and noone has revamped the old blitzcoder files that lay somewhere.
Those had useful information in them.

Idk, there's a lot of Java and C# users on here, although everyone shares a common background in BB, I think most of the users have branched out.

Oscar: Good luck with DevCrunch, I can't wait to see what you have in store!
