Over at SyntaxBomb, we are proud to announce the opening of a much requested indie section that includes forums for the following indie subjects:-

Game Design
Standards and Guidelines
Game assets
Announcements & Feedback
Sales and Marketing strategies
Copyright / Trademark and Legal issues

Hopefully, a lot of you developers out there can come over and share your views and experiences surrounding the stark realities of being an independant developer, as well as any budding indie can pop over and ask questions surrounding the topic.

The indie forum itself is moderated by Gfk, who has, released around 13 games himself, so theres a mountain of experience just there.

We have a lot of plans for the indie section, but to make them plans grow, we need you indies, so come on over and give us your input.

See you there!

Dabz and the SyntaxBomb team

Note: I know some may feel my post is a little cheeky, but we do welcome SoCoder community news at SyntaxBomb, so feel free!

Those weren't already in there?
Those seem like pretty typical forum sections!

Oh, except for "Announcements" I really hate the idea of people having the ability to post "PR" spiel onto forums.
Stick a little "This is a community forum, post stuff in english, not in PR" sticky in there

hmmmmm....
oh hey, thats true and serious.
but its also funny...in a forum kind of way.

yet.....I think Jay you may have helped to start
a new tv show. What with the likes of L.A LAW, CSI,
Reno 911, etc
how about PR--->a show centering on work and life
at a Public Relations firm?

anyway, I have to drop the bomb over at the site
by visiting and see how the party is going over there.
See what all the hoopla is about with these Indie Forums.

cheers

|edit| I also need to use a new keyboard. keys are starting to stick together or not really press at all. Perhaps, if I use my slim keyboard from my Hydra. True!. |edit|

well, um......

I think Jay is right and I agree with him.
Sorry, Dabz. But, nothing special with these Indie
Game Developer forums over at syntaxbomb.
Just looks like and reads like regular forum topics.
Nothing spectacular and no biggie about them.

I don't see why all the big hoopla about them.

I'll just navigate around them.
By the way they are set up and by
the person who is running them too.

cheers anyway,

There's nothing for them to be special about mousey mate, the intention of them is to have a central area surrounding topics of that nature.

Granted, its brand new and theres not much information in there, but I imagine over time, it will fill up with good advice surrounding being an indie coder. And will hopefully be a valuable point of research for any budding indie from any community.

I'm a bit cautious, skeptical and a little
cynical. Say What!!??
The mousey cynical and cautious.
Yes, sometimes I am on occassion.

yet as Moe Howard of the Three Stooges says
or said:

"we shall see what we shall see"

again, no biggie of these indie forums, dude.

A forum section is only as good as the people who use it.
I'm sure the sections Dabz has added will be used as expected. Just give it time, and stop being so negative!

and stop being so bossy and critical yourself.
and don't talk down to me..nor lecture me!
you can be so hard up and inflexible a lot of times, yourself.

in fact, do not share nor talk with me again.
okay! serious. I know I won't. True!.
