September apple event

New iPhones and m3 macs next month? There was a rumored delay, but might of been solved.

Price increases again. My current iPhone probably could last a couple of years more. But why not spend 1500 on a new phone 👀

There was one rumor the new m3 would have a 3000 point single core score compared to the 1800+/- now and 2200+/- intel. New chinese cpu's have said to have single core scores nearing the 3000 mark too. For programming this would be a mark up.

I'm going to have to spend the next few months with my hands firmly around my eyes.
Quest 3's incoming, but all my funds are currently outgoing at an alarming rate!

Our iPad Air is getting a bit one... it’s a first gen model if Apple releases a newer one in September might pick one.

30 minutes before the prerecorded presentation?

I hope the hardware of the iPhone is not only a minimal upgrade. If it is 50% faster than I might take a chance. Carrying a 13 here.

The new iPad pro next year would be more to my liking.

I'm not sure you need a new iPad, right now, given the scores your current one's getting in my GotoJSE test!!!!!

I was reading the single core increase alone could be worth it. But the new iPhone chip would confirm if they succeeded in that.

Raytracing seems nice. But there are so few good games on ios. The cpu upgrade seems minimal.

Wow. They are pretty cheap Only 1400 euro's for the 256gb pro. I think I wil get one for every pocket 👀

The most expensive models have said to be the most populair ones. Getting sold out and such.

I thought the price increases were the event. Ole' Kuron gets confused too easily.

I was mostly interested in the new cpu. The energy efficiency is very good this time. My M1/M2 was getting pretty hot and the battery emptied rather quickly when using it heavily.

The speed increase is not that spectacular.

Saw an article and pics of the new 16" M3 Macbok Pro. Wow, that thing is thick, looks like 90s era laptop with how thick it is. No biggie for me, as it would sit on my desk, but is one of the thickest Macs I have seen since the 90s.

Speaking of thicc Laptops, currently eyeing up another Thinkpad for £30 online, probably to replace my T420

Honestly, I can't see the "thickest mac since the 90s" vibe, myself. The thing's only 40mm (0.22 inches) thicker than my MacBook Air is.
I mean, that's an SD card slot.. That's pretty damn thin..

Can only go by the picture in the article I saw. Maybe after so many "bendgates" Apple is learning that thinner is not always better.

|edit| Reminds me of the old white plastic Apple laptop I had back in the day. Sadly, even though that one was thick, it had thermal issues and had the logic board replaced twice. |edit|
