spinal	I don't get it. If they mashed the whole story into a single episode, it might have worked. But everything it drawn out, with pointless filler scenes stick in there. The isn't much dialogue and what there is is slow and plodding. I know the guys are all old now, but I can't believe that their acting abilities have deteriorated this much. Old episodes had loads of gags, the dialogue was fast paced. I'm afraid this just isn't RD and no holly either -=-=- Check out my excellent homepage!

Jayenkai	DVD Turned up, and having watched it over and over, I must say that it does indeed flow MUCH better in the single-episode Director's Cut version. But it's still a cracking episode either way. Shame there's still no audience on the DVD either But the Director's Cut does at least chop out all of the "Waiting for a laugh" sections that were so apparent on the original. Great DVD 2 commentaries, a 30 min making of, an extra 45 min making of, bloopers, deleted scenes and other juicy bits. Lovely stuff!! -=-=- ''Load, Next List!''

spinal	I found this on youtube, someone has mad a fan edit of part1 from the back to earth special. Like me, they were unhappy with how the special turned out, so they did what they could to make it feel much more like a 'traditional' red dwarf episode. A lot of the filler/repeating jokes have been removed along with a couple of additions (music, sfx etc.) I think this is far better than the official episode. I for one hope he does the same to the second and thrid parts.
