Bah, humbug. You just can't cut 'n' paste from a Microsoft C++ IDE to a Borland C++ IDE. And in Linux you get the standard GNU one, but then there's all sorts of dependency hells which mean it can't be fully installed untill I do some things that I can't find time to do. So, my next update of my OpenGl thingie is the last. I give up. It's got no source, as it's > 80% the NeHe cube texture tutorial, with some of the source from my first program version chucked in, some free textures from NOCTUA graphics and a lot of lines to create the building. I can't give the edited source and take credit. I was going to add masked sprites, since I now know how and my first attempt only failed because I forgot to add one to the size of the textures array. I was also going to add proper partical systems too... But I give up. I'm leaving C++ and I'm not going to touch a compiler again until Cobra arrives. And I can't believe I booted up in Windows only to find my code wouldn't compile on my own compiler. The exe ran at less than a frame per minute too. I'm going to crawl back to linux, and install Damn Small Linux on the half a gigabyte of hard drive space left on my bedroom iMac. Maybe PHP needs some more attention. I'll build that search engine with extra features that I always wanted. Maybe I'll go talk to a bottle of whiskey too. Toodles. -=-=- blog | work | code | more code |

by the way how does the iMac run? i was thinking of getting a Mac with an extra large HDD and loading up linux and windows XP on it my penguin will eat fish all day long and code! -=-=- i like green haired girls... |

You can't get windows running on it. Yeah, there's virtual PC, but it sucks. iMacs are great though - they're damn sexy! The interface is great (although I prefer the origional OS X creamy design, rather than the brushed metal crap), they come with firewire (like USB) and stuff and they're small and compact. They're also built on UNIX. I'd put them half way between a Windows machine and a Linux machine. They're easy to use, maybe even easier than windows, but you can also access the terminal and do more things with it. iTunes works great on it too, and there's firefox and the Gimp to do stuff on. And, even with less specs, they run better than Windows machines. -=-=- blog | work | code | more code |

are you using one with a PowerPC chipset? i know the Intel chips can run both Mac OS X and windows if i can't get windows to work on it then i will go with my plan to have like 5 computers running at once and a switch box thing for me to switch between them, already have enough parts to build 2 to computer port sets and one to input/output device port set -=-=- i like green haired girls... |

Oh yeah. The Intel dealie... I'm back using a G4 one and an old french OS 9 one that's had OS X chucked on it. With Intel thingies, well, yeah, if you can get a dual boot between windows XP, OS X and Ubuntu, you'd be a very happy person. Good luck. -=-=- blog | work | code | more code |

A friend of mine got an intel iBook and put winXP, linux, and obviously had OSX on it. We make fun of him at lans though cause we'll be like "alright, lets play some UT" and then he'll be like "crap, now i have to reboot into OSX"; then we'll switch back to starcraft and he'll have to reboot again. idk why he didn't just install the windows version of UT on there, but whatever  .

yeah it is our dream, my switchbox project is the next best thing. maybe we can have 5 boot computers someday, Damn Small Linux, Ubuntu, Windows and Mac OS X maybe people would be more inclined to try Mac OS X if it would work on non-apple computers like Windows does -=-=- i like green haired girls... |

That's 4. I vote AmigaOS for the 5th And Damn Small Linux can run off a thumbdrive, so technically having it plugged/unplugged could count as a 4th boot anyway. -=-=- ''Load, Next List!''
