Lovely stuff! I had a brief attempt with thew Atart around this time last year. It's fairly harsh machine code just to get something on the screen!

It always looked far too tough to me. From what I have read in the past, you basically have to program the TV directly, no frame buffer or anything, using a machine that was only ever intended to play pong.

Yeah. The TIA system is direct to scanline. So your kernel for it can be "great fun" when you're cycle counting to get horizontal positioning a-okay.

Although, thankfully, it does have Collision detection built-in! So no rect-rect code required. Bloody good thing that considering the systems specs.
