How's Things? (Early 2021)

Just wanted to do a check-in kinda post, to see how everyone's managing with everything, lately.

I've been fiddling about with Diabetes tablets, up and down, and sugar levels going crazy, but otherwise I've nothing much to grumble about.
Mum's bones seem to be taking longer and longer each morning to get into gear. We're fairly sure this is down to lack of movement, so are trying to get her out and about a bit more. Lockdown's taking its toll, here!
Meanwhile, the cat is doing her usual "STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!" crap, and avoiding everyone. .. Though I did get a couple of strokes in, this morning, much to her dismay.

Glad to hear you're doing well, Jay!

Last night we had a text from the Landlady telling us she wants to sell the house so we're being evicted. Not sure if she's genuinely wanting to sell or if it's an excuse because we keep threatening to not pay rent as she's not fixing the things we're asking her to fix (It's her duty as a landlady to do so). Damp problems, leaks, shower needed replacing last week, chipboard not being fitted correctly when we moved in so cracks form on the floor. The list goes on. When we moved in 5 years ago, she promised to tile the bathroom. Instead, she wallpapered it. Not sure if you've ever mixed a steamy room with wallpaper but as you can probably imagine, it peels like mad. She never did sort it after numerous attempts at getting her in.

We have 6 months due to the pandemic to find somewhere else, luckily. It'll be stressful but it'll be great to get out of this house, as it's not safe living conditions. I just feel dirty living here. Can't bloody wait to get out of here and tell the Landlady to shove her shitty house up her fat arse.

It's pretty shite to feel like you can't invite friends and family (Covid permitting) over because you're embarrassed about your home, but there's nothing we can do. We can't decorate ourselves according to the contract.

Anyway, rant over!! How's everyone else?

Wih all those issues you could have sued for breach of contract, but yeah, using the "I'm selling" excuse sounds like she jut wants to get rid of you without sorting the issues.

I'm fine now. I was in a bad place recently though, physically and mentally, as work was really fecking shite. Up until last week I hadn't worked with a single regular member of staff - just Bank and Agency staff, which means that Muggins does pretty much everything. Some of them never even left the office to see/speak to the patientsI almost walked out one shift - in 30 years I've never contemplated that. I think I've seen my Manager once this year IIRC. I ache terribly all over and I'm constantly exhausted. But mentally I'm better now.

I've got my second Covid jab on Saturday, so that's something to look forward to

6 months is at least better than a lot of my freinds who had been given 1 or 2 months so, at least you have some time to put things together, wishing you all the best with finding a comfier, better maintained abode.

Shifted my diet around since last friday, I haven't had a single coffee, tea or caffinated beverage since then and I feel a lot, a lot better for it. Things are going to be busy for me again through this year at work which is good news, lots more systems to be developed which keeps me busy and grows Refresh Cartridges a fair bit hopefully, saw the kids on Saturday, took them out and about to the park, good times had by all, then headed to the beach with a mate on Sunday for a catch up. Did a wee bit of coding and just had some fun doing a lil bit of photography at night. A complete turnaround from a couple Fridays ago.

I'm gonna keep on with the no caffeine stuff and see where it takes me, might get back on with the weights and walking to work again soon, that'll be nicer when it gets warmer again

I have been taking a break. Did some(a lot of) Minecraft and discovered the pain in my thumb I have been having is related to using the Xbox controller. A while ago in the supermarket when I picked up a jar my thumb clicked. Seems that is related also. I think I must play less Minecraft.

Instead of gaming I tried to do some coding to let my thumb recover and spent a couple of hours figuring out how to do certain stuff with Godot. The documentation is bad with Godot too.

Also more pixelart : (Left original from Darkmere(amiga) / right remake(version) by me)

Damn, quite how you guys are all coping, I've no idea.
My "troubles" are minuscule by comparison, even with the brain shit.

They've (Finally!!) lowered my dosage of Diabetes tablets back down.
After the recent increase, it caused my levels to spike to levels never before seen by my iPhone's health app, which was absolutely freaking out every time I typed "17.x" into the thing.
I'm back down a level, now and the stats have dropped back down with me.
Apologies if I've been slightly off-kilt the past few days, though. Seems that dropping my tablets has (again) caused oddities in my mindset.
I do feel a lot more myself, today, though. The odd fogginess has lifted, and I'm feeling more clear in my thoughts.

... I think!!!

It's only as bad as you make it out to be I guess. I am still in amazement at how productive you are though all this Jay, despite everything going on.
