Thundercats the cartoon? If so, are they new or old episodes?

Started off with a "Could, at the very least be a decent storyline", but episode 3 put me off.. too cartoony!

I'm watching, not sure how much I like it though. On the one hand, I liked the original and have seen a hell of a lot of the episodes. The new ones have completely changed the storyline and the only thing that it seems to have in common are the character names. They could have at least kept the fact that the Thundercats were from a different plant to Mumra. Yes, I know when something like this is remade, the story is reinterpreted etc. but I can imagine this new version is alienating thousands of 25-35 year old fans who were looking forward to a childhood cartoon returning.
On the other hand though, it seems OK as a cartoon if I forget that it's meant to be Thundercats.
