First thought.. JoyX without parameters?
Try JoyX(0,0)
..where first param = left or right stick, and second param = controller number.

JoyX(1) seems to get the job done. Only have one real usb joypad to test with, so not 100% sure it works correctly with others.

Hmm.. Maybe best to add both Joy(0) and (1).. I'm using 0, and that's the left-thumbstick on my X360 pad.
