Why on earth do tech companies insist on using bluetooth for wireless audio? I just bought a nice pair of bluetooth headphones, for the most part I am very happy with them. But I order to use them with my phone, I have to put the phone in my front jacket pocket! Why? because although every man and his dog say that bluetooth works for a distance of 33feet/10m and doesn't require line of sight, when it comes to the amount of data needing to be transmitted for audio, those figures couldn't be more unrealistic. When it comes to bluetooth headphones, simply putting your phone in your back pocket is enough for the signal to drop out. Years ago I have a pair of wireless headphones, regular normal size, not oversize that is popular today, they cam with a fairly small adapter, not much bigger than a couple of AA batteries and the damn things were great! They claimed to be bluetooth, which may have been true, but you couldn't pair them to anything other than the dongle, from what I remember they weren't even 'discoverable'. That aside, the signal strength was plenty strong enough to pass through from my back pocket to my head!
Why then hell cant headphones do that these days?!!!

Grrrrrrr.

Also, Bluetooth is a bitch when it comes to sharing.
I bought a cheap £20 Bluetooth speaker a while back. It sits in my room, and I can send my iPad music to it.
I'd like to buy one for the living room, but then it locks to my iPad, and if mum wants her music, we have to fuck about for 10 minutes re-pairing the thing to her device.
That's WRONG!!!!
Why can't it link to both?

AirPlay is much nicer, and tends to work with ANY iOS device on the same network, but ... You ain't getting a £20 AirPlay speaker any time soon!!
