Yesterday I decided to do a complete Socoder backup, so whilst waiting the hours and hours that it takes, I decided to do a clearing up of all the crap that's clung onto my desktop.
And what a difference I've made.
I even managed to dispose of all-but-one of my Sticky Notes, copying loads of stuff over to either iCloud Notes or Google Sheets.

Boy, were there a lot of Sticky Notes!!

As a result, you can now actually see my desktop, for the first time in about a year.

Thought I'd show it off!

Your turn!!

My desktop is fairly dull. So here's the top of my desk.

What a fancy mangled mismatch of OSs you have there, Spinal

.. Which reminds me.. I wonder if StarDock got WindowBlinds working on Win10, yet..

From what I've read, yes. Just not released yet.

Took a lot of work to get the start bar to be always on bottom and hide the tasks from it! but I like it

Yeah, seems there's a beta. Not willing to risk it, just for that.
I'll keep waiting! It'll turn up eventually.. .. I hope!!

Been a good few years since I attempted Linux.
How is it, nowadays?

Been a good few years since I attempted Linux.

It is pretty good, there are decent package managers, pretty easy to install, I've never had any problems with drivers on my laptop/netbook/VMWare when I've dabbled with it on thaem... Though, like anything else, other peoples mileage may vary... You probably can nowadays get away without using the terminal as much... But I prefer it... Cos I'm odd like that!

Even though it is all nice and shiney, it just doesnt knock Windows off it's perch... I mean, it would be nice if it did, but, it's still nowhere near, you can safely ignore at the present time (My opinion) if your building a game, but, if you have the tools that cross compile, it's a nice bonus I suppose to get it on there, via Steam or something, but then, it's another OS to support, and one which could be a bit fidgety... Me, personally, I like Linux, it's pretty neat... Would I release a game on it... Nah, not because of the OS itself, just due to the support angle!

For anything else though, say, office use, browsing and all the rest of "normal" PC usage, it is a goer I reckon... It just cannot get its foot in the door on that front, and it has tried... Which is a shame as I would actually like to see it do well!

Too much of that typey shit in Linux, for me.

Clicky click click is what I like.

I'd say Linux is worse than it was in 2007

I still use it as my primary OS.

Its still better than Windows for programming on.

But its worse.

Change! Bah humbug!

What I find most worrying is the sheer number of Manic Miner icons that are on his desktop!
I mean, I love the game, and it'll always be top of my "Best Games" list, but.. .. You only need one!!

Don't think I've ever used the image upload thingy before, so here goes...

Fairly boring I'm afraid - and be glad it's just a view of my desktop and not my mess of a desk

I have folders called 'Stuff' where I dump all of the folders and icons that build up on the desktop over time. It's undergone a "clean-up" recently hence the "Stuff_2" folder

Yeah, I dumped all mine into those Games and Utils folders.
Quite why I prefer Desktop icons to Start Menu ones, I'm not sure. .. but I do!
