Yes, we are back in business!

An official update from the Pokemon Online Revisited project

Hi there, all Pokemon fans!
Things have been looking grim the past month, with alot of unruly networking bugs and the like.
However, we on the Pokemon Online Revisited team would now like to inform you that we are doing everything we can to get back in business. A new graphics engine has now been added, supporting several layers, alpha blending, huge tile maps - basically everything you'll remember from the Pokemon Games on consoles, and so much more.
We are also working with a new and licensed network engine, supporting thousands of players, great speed and flexibility.
Today, we did an official test of the new networking system at a small, independent fan site (www.socoder.net), and everything seemed to work out very smoothly.

Tune in for more news later!

- Afr0 (Executive Producer, Executive Art Director, ELPCO (Executive Lead Programmer in Charge of Operations), Business Manager)

Doesn't that imply that SoCoder is a Pokemon fansite? Last time I checked, it wasn't...

I agree with Shroom, and you had been asked not to promote what is an illegal game here (because it infringes on copyright laws).

shroom: lol, it is now!

JL: Dude, chill! I didn't even post this on the official site, I just posted it here, because I am pleased to be back in business. And no, it's not really an illegal game, as far as Nintendo is concerned. I've several indications to suggest that the original POL project was not shut down by Nintendo, the latest of which is a comment by the leader of Pokemon World Online on my video on YouTube, which can be found here

I usually don't use lame Internet acronyms, but: ROFL! "Executive Lead Programmer in Charge of Operations" -- what does that mean?

First of all I think you should skip all those fancy titles, and stop thinking of yourself as the CEO of a big game studio. You'll never ever get a chance to release a Pokémon game commercially. Heck, even releasing it for free might cause trouble. Nintendo has been very strict before and I don't see why they would've changed.

And why are you talking to us as if we don't know what SoCoder is, if you just posted it on here?

Regardless of you have been caught or sued, it infringes on copyright law so it is illegal.

I agree with Phoenix about all the titles. As far as I'm aware, your a one man team. So you a manager and lead programmer of who? Giving yourself a title doesn't make you or it look any better. Instead just concentrate on producing something of high quality.

It means what it says - d'oh!

And why are you talking to us as if we don't know what SoCoder is, if you just posted it on here?

Because I wanted to have some fun within my own blog?

Why not just do a shameless rip-off? I was too cheap to buy any Pokemon games, but there was a passable imitation that I played once called "Battlepets".

@ everyone except afro - I agree.

@afro - Nice game, and I am amused by some the Pokemon games, and I know you were just making fun, but I never thought of Socoder as a pokemon fanclub. SoPokemon.net, though, sounds a tad more correct. No harsh feelings though.
