Patent Wars

How do you make a Monopoly game for your phone, without being told off about it?

This is as far as the game's gotten!
No code, no squares, no ideas..
Just the thought that, instead of renting nights at houses/hotels, you'd instead pay rights to use X/Y/Z patent.

So, any ideas?

Instead of buying
1 House
2 House
3 House
4 House
------
Hotel!

You buy
Australian Patent
US Patent
Japan Patent
Euro Patent
-----------
Worldwide Patent

Then, each piece is assigned 2 areas to work in.
(6 combos = 6 different playing pieces)

Folk only have to pay for the patents that they have to.
So, if your piece works in Japan and Euro, but the square only has the patents for US and Aus, you don't have to pay jack.
However, if that square has Jap and Euro, you pay twice!
And if it's got Worldwide pats, you pay a wee bit more.

4 patent offices are spread around the board.
If you own a patent office, you get a little bit of income every time someone pays for a patent related to that area, whether it's to buy a patent, or to pay "rent" on that patent.

This game's coming along nicely!!

(still no gameplay, it's all in my head!)

I think it sounds different enough that you can get away with it. Maybe call the chance cards and those other cards (what were they called?) something different, and you'll be set to go.

Yup, Pat.Pending, and Claim (as above)
I've made things a wee bit more colorful, and added the corners in..

"Year End : Very Fiscally" for *cough* not Go
"Pat.Court", where you go to fight patent claims and can't get out until you roll a double!
"Pat.Cash", where you must pay to keep your patents, if you land on it. (free parking! pah!!)
and
"Copy Cat", where if you land on it, you have to jump to court to fight an infringement.

Kick-ass!

You should make up mock company and technology names for you to use in the game.
