I'm not getting it, but I hope someone else over here will so that we can get detailed info about what it's like It is available "only" to the first 2.5 million downloaders (somehow that figure just doesn't scream being limited).

Would try it, but.. Probably wouldn't

On second thoughts, I might give this a go.
Gotta work, first, though..

I'll definately be trying it, if I can get my hands on a copy before this limit is reached.

I have a feeling download it is going to be a pain.

Has anyone done the math yet? 2.5 million copies of Windows 7 at 5 GB a copy = about 12 petabytes of bandwidth...

..shesh!

Oop, I think time is up. The info page has been replaced. That was quick. Snag it on PirateBay if you want to risk it.

Stealth has da a'ficial linkzz:

Windows 7 Beta (32 bit)

Windows 7 Beta (64 bit)

You may have problems downloading it, based on your browser. If you do, try a different browser. (I'm using firefox and it works fine.) You will still need to register for a Windows 7 beta serial number, but you can't until the Windows 7 beta page comes back up.

You're welcome.

[Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to bump this cause it's more than just an edit.]

it is ment to be out proform xp and vista on daily tasks, might download this and test it to see how well it preforms on some older hardware (aka 3-4 years old).

Backup your MP3s first, though. Even those on removable media and the network

I'm officially running it now. I love it so far. (With Vista, if you sent in plenty of good feedback, they would give you a free serial for Vista when it came out, so keep that in mind for Windows 7.)

After you said that, Stealth, I've changed my mind I'm going to give it a try as soon as I get my real computer back (still isn't fixed Next time I'll crack it open myself, even though I know nothing about laptops...).

I've already sent in a bunch of feedback (and found 1 bug, woot).

I think you're going to like it Phoenix, they did a really good job this time on visual design.

I excluded about 25 gigs from this XP partition on my main computer...do you think it would be safe to install it there, and safely remove it when the time comes?

@blanko1324

Yep.

It might screw up your boot loader though when you nuke Windows 7. When the time comes to remove it, search on how to restore the MBR boot loader from an XP install disc.

Any idea what this will cost?

@dna

When it's out? It'll probably cost the same as the Vista pricing scheme right now.

I found another interesting revelation. Microsoft is giving everybody the same five product keys. So here you go, these all will work:

32 bit:
QXV7B-K78W2-QGPR6-9FWH9-KGMM7
6JKV2-QPB8H-RQ893-FW7TM-PBJ73
GG4MQ-MGK72-HVXFW-KHCRF-KW6KY
TQ32R-WFBDM-GFHD2-QGVMH-3P9GC
4HJRK-X6Q28-HWRFY-WDYHJ-K8HDH

64 bit:

Whatever the price it may be too much since many had to pay full price for Vista and get something that had problems.
