Green&Gray scheme is where its at!

I like it, is that just for showcases? I'm wondering what the front page will look like mainly.

I think that the headers are really easy to miss on the new design -- I would align them to the left or center, and make the subheaders ('download', etc) larger or at least bolder than the surrounding text.

You might look into using Smarty (https://www.smarty.net/) for page templates. This would let SoCoder be very nicely themeable/skinnable, making it easier for you to change parts of the layout later, and it's pretty easy to fit into an existing application.

That having been said, I think the site is nice and usable as-is.

OK.
It'll do for today, I'll sort out the extra annoyances / missing bits, later..

Pop into a showcase, new style..

If you don't like it, and would prefer old-style, head into your profile and make the switch (It's in the "Forum Settings" section of your profile.)

Comments/thoughts/complaints..

And, no, there's no unregistered commenting, yet..

I like the new style for the showcases. My only suggestion would be for the links on the right, have some kind of color background grouping them also instead of having them on the solid white background

Is it meant to be only in the White style for the moment, or will there be other styles in the future?

|edit| Still, it's a very good simple style for the visitors, although I personally prefer the old style... |edit|

I don't think there's a need for other styles..
This is for visitors, they won't be registered, so.. They get a vague niceness to the site before they click elsewhere and find the horror of text that is Socoder!!

Bug found!

Added a second link in my Afr0Messenger 2 showcase (URL2) for the sourcecode, but it keeps pointing to URL1, instead!!

K, thanks.. I'll sort that later.

Plenty of Copy+Pasting to get that all working

So this theme will not exist when they are logged in? That makes no sense. It's like sugar coating the site just long enough for them to sign up.

Frankly, I don't care all to much about the visitors. I would prefer the active members get better treatment over the visitors.

Thanks for trying with the design though. I realize your not the greatest with design but the effort is appreciated. The only thing I find weird about the layout is that the caption font size is smaller than the text below it. Also, I think the captions would look better left aligned.

The theme will default to being switched on, as it just has for everyone else.
If you want bog-standard, turn it off.

Stealth It's like sugar coating the site just long enough for them to sign up.

And, it's not really for them to sign up, either. I haven't stuck the login/register box on there. It's more of a "Nice download page" thing, than it is a sugar-coated happyland.

Stealth I would prefer the active members get better treatment over the visitors.

<-- Look around -->
There's 3 years worth of treatment for you.
Now lets try getting a couple of visitors.

..
Now, about those captions. I tried making them a wee bit bigger, yesterday, but because I'd only drawn "top border" at 16px, it all got messy. If I can be arsed to redraw all that gubbins, then I can get around to making them bigger..
Shouldn't be too hard, but site-work is far off, as I've still not done my AGameAWeek yet, and then I've shitloads of work on PRC2, too.

Things take time in Jay's world, nowadays..
..
AGameAWeek wasn't a good idea!!

Awesome idea! Maybe add "BWAHAHA, It's all lies!" at the end of the registration page too.

I would like to take this moment to say "Jay, please design something a little better than that. I was frightened when I went to a showcase."
