Aha. Nothing is being done with it now. But when Apple decides they want to take over the world, they will start by hunting everyone down and holding them hostage. Then Google will swoop in and save everyone and the world will be a better place; until Google mind-controls everyone.

This is very likely a cache so that iOS doesn't have to drain the battery to constantly search for your location. I'm guessing not deleting after a certain point was an oversight. It seems odd that it would still update this file with location tracking off.

Maybe iAds uses the collection of everywhere you've been to target ads?

Storing old locations is probably useful for some services, but I'd imagine it caching forever was simply an oversight.
