Socoder -> Off Topic -> ''Like''

"Like" button, or otherwise.
What are your thoughts?

My thoughts on the subject.

SoCoder is a forum. If I post something, I'd like to see responses.
Sometimes people might just want to write "LIKE" or "+1" or such silly nonsense. But usually, once they've clicked that reply box, the words start to flow, and you get "better than Like"
I like discussion, and I like when people bother to respond.

If SoCoder were "post.... 57 likes, 0 replies" then that would make me a very sad panda.

Maybe you're right, I just didn't see it that way.

I don't think a like button would do much good. It's better that people explain what it is they like about your ideas rather than just tick a box.

Wonder why Facebook hasn't got a "pfft" button?

That might be handy, if your not impressed with a post, then you can just click that and any irk will be out your system, instead of posting them ending up in a major barney!
