Last night, whilst trying to concentrate on posting AGameAWeek to 3 or 4 different places at once, I was bombarded by beep after beep after beep.. Twitter, Facebook, Emails.. They were all desperate to grab my attention, and quite frankly I just wasn't in the god damned mood!!! My iPad has a "Do Not Disturb" mode, which is easy to activate and does its job. It doesn't, however, shut off the other 100,000 things around my bedroom which continue to bleep and blink away every few seconds. My god, it was annoying as fuck!!! In the end, I switched off everything, turned off the router, gave up trying to get anything done, and instead fell asleep.. Fuck that shit.. .. Doesn't help that I had a Migraine, either It would've been easy enough to have just switched off the router and continue, but then I couldn't actually do the web-based AGameAWeek posting, which requires the net connection. I was basically being overwhelmed, and my head couldn't take any more damn beeps. Surely there must be an easy way to make this all go away, when you need silence? And if not... This is why I don't do much internetting nowadays. Since we started doing the t-shirts it's got much, much worse. People ask us questions via facebook at the SILLIEST times of day... 11pm, 4am, 6am... it matters not! You'd think they were in a different bloody time zone. And the annoying thing is, 9/10 times we answer as soon as we see it, because we need the rupees. |

Yeah, answering is one of my issues, too. Not because I'm after any rupees, though! I just tend to be the type of person who doesn't like leaving things un-responded.

aha, I have dedicated folders for Facebook and Twitter and Linkedin that skip the inbox. And uninstalled the apps on my phone, because the mobile websites work better anyway! And I've even cut down on spam by diligently opening each one and clicking the "unsubscribe" link. It actually works on some of them! Skype though. BOOP, someone just went offline. BOOP, they're online again. Ahhhhhhhhhh! :o edit: ooooh, nosey around in the Skype settings. You can even turn off those annoying birthday reminders!
