I use both, in terms of measurement, it all depends which line the measurement lands on...

e.g. if its 73mm, I just say 3"

Weight wise, I know what a pound is, and what a kilo is, a pound is nearly half a kilo... Makes no odds to me which I use!

And well, pints and litres... I'm sure all Brits know them both... I drink pints and piss litres! hehehe

Funny, I remember when the UK changed to metric weights because of the sweet shops changed from pounds/ounces to kilograms/grams... I mostly think in miles but over here in Oz everything is in kilometers (speed limits, distance, car speed) and sometimes still say miles per hour when I should be saying k's per hour...

A pint is a pint, unless your in Oz and its no where near a proper pint and you have to find a place where they sell Imperial pints!

I was royally pissed when I noticed they'd slyly changed the size of Newcastle Brown Ale bottles from 568ml (a pint) to 550ml (not a pint).

WTF is that all about?? They've basically stolen 18ml of my falling down juice.

Yeah, but that's not about Metric vs Imperial.
.. That's about bastard companies being cheap gits.

Apparently a pint is 0.57 litres. Well I still say pint and the EU can kiss my hairy arse cheeks.

The UK is an odd place for measurements, we apparently started going metric way back in the 60's but never actually finished doing it. I have no idea how far a kilometer is or how many litres there are in anything. I know 1 meter is about 3 feet or as wide as a shelf in the shop I work in and that a regular internal door is about 2 meters, 10cm is about the distance between my thumb and forefinger if I make a 'C' shape. As for lbs and grams and such, I never needed to know so I don't.

I remember reading about the british "inch" Apparently they used to set that to the size of the queens(of kings) thumb sizes. The last one(when they stopped doing that) she was kind of a big woman.

We have a irish pub here in the city. You can order pints there I think.

In most pubs you order a pint, even in France I used to order a pint. It doesn't make a difference, the digital pumps only do two amounts, so as long as the bar staff know a pint is 'large' and a half is 'small' you're good to go.

France might do pints, but they don't serve quarter-pounders in McDonalds - there they are called a Royale with cheese.

I convert readily between imperial and metric. No bother. We were always taught these at school.

But WTF is a cup of flour/water/blah? Stupid American/Aussie recipes contain them. Just give me a fucking value I can measure.
