Today's Twitter highlight; somebody asking if the SpaceX launch will be visible from central Europe.

No. No it won't.

That was friggin' awesome. Just watching it gave me a real sense of "Holy crap, this is a big deal".

Shame about the central core, but it was awesome all the same!

Yeah, didn't have enough propellant to slow its descent apparently. It was kinda obvious that the core hadn't made it when the feed was cut seconds before it was due to land. I reckon the video feed was on a slight time delay so they cut the feed as soon as it blew up to save insta-blushes.

Bet the fuel guy is popular today.

Still... simultaneous controlled landing of two reusable booster rockets. I'll remember seeing that live for a long, long time. Not to mention putting a car into what amounts to permanent back and forth travel between Earth and Mars, and it'll probably still be doing it when mankind is long gone.

In the past they have shown rockets crashing and the cameras at the drone ship have stopped working even for successful landings so i doubt they did anything like a coverup.

The sync dual landings and the car in front of Earth will be posters to inspire people from for a very long time. I have a new desktop background

Well, I hope they release a bunch of footage from the car over the next few years.

Actually I would love to watch the launch in VR!

You would really get the sense of how tall the rockets are and the blast radius!
