i prefer version 1 tbh :/

More simple and nice.... the big silvery-ness puts me off version 2 a little. That said, it is still very nice.

The main thing I don't like about the second is the reflection of the writing. When your only glancing or skimming the page, it's hard to read. I think the original version with the nice finish of the second would look good.

At the very least I think you should try the second without the reflections. I also don't think the silver is that great. Why not try the same design using shades of a bold colour. Like how the DevCrunch site was all red and Microsoft is all blue. I think blue would look nice.

Hey, nevermind about the site. Get this Notepad 2.0 out

You can never have enough Notepad replacements - and this one looks like a good "Handy Notes Area" one, which I need, as opposed to my thousands of "programmer" notepads. Do you think you could find a way to get Aspell working with it? I don't know how easy it would be, but that would really turn it into a killer app

What happened to Desktop Notepad?

.. And I agree with Diablos.. Maybe lighten the reflection.

Out of the two I like the first one best, just because it's a cleaner designer. Version 2 is cool, but I agree that the reflections could be toned down a little bit

Also - either design would look good with a secondary colour to add contrast. That's purely down to what colours you like, I guess

What happened to Desktop Notepad?

It can't do bold/italic/underlined text. How can it compete with that?

I don't mean a colour being secondary, but the main colour of the site. I partly disagree that it's down to what colours people would like. A good design in a colour that works will also look good.
