Heatwave - July 2022

Fuck.
Not doing well, today.
It's currently at 25 and is predicted to hit 28 later today.
I'm drenched in sweat, and queasy as hell.
The brain-fluid is feeling incredibly .. um.. what's the opposite of viscous? It's very runny, and is waving about with even minimal movements.

How the hell TheRevillsGames copes, I've no idea.
This shit ain't good!!!

The met office website says its currently 26°C here, 28° according to whatever app is sitting on my desktop and 24° according to my watch. One of them is probably about right.

LoL at <30 heatwave

To be fair to though, most of the UK houses I remember were designed to keep the heat in.

Drink plenty of cold water and use fans.

Btw I don't cope too well. Just live in air conditioning 😅

Feels a bit cooler but still too hot for me. I've come close to spewing up a few times, I might feel better if the spew actually happens.

I've got a glass of water and some bottled water for backup nearby, windows are open, desk fan blowing and I'm wearing a neck fan at the same time.

Put a bottle of water in the freezer for an hour to so, then place the bottle behind the fan. (Stick it in a bowl or the condensation will be all over your desk!!)
.. or is it in front of the fan?!!
Not sure.. I think it's the back..

It's been relatively cool all day.
Why is it getting hotter, now that the sun is around at the other side of the planet?!

The news was mentioning warm winds from the sahara were causing heat. I have no idea how that works though.

Next Tuesday the warmest day should be here. The can not say for sure if it wil be 25 or 42 celcius.

Yep!
Might have to unplug a few devices, to be sure they don't overheat.

I asked OpenAI Playgrounds to "Write a song about the temperature being far too hot."

The sun is beating down
The heat is overwhelming
I can't take it anymore
I'm about to melt

The pavement is hot
The air is thick and heavy
I can't breathe
I'm about to faint

This is not weather
This is Hell
I want to go inside
Where it's nice and cool

But I can't
I'm stuck out here
In this inferno

Someone please help me
I can't take this heat
It's too much, it's too much
I'm about to die

35 degrees Celsius here today. Just picking up the phone now makes me sweat.

News media mentioned thousands of ‘weak’ people may die today and tomorrow.

Plenty of water all around. Ice at the ready.
They've suggested leaving your doors and windows open for the cooler morning, then closing doors windows and curtains once the real heat kicks in, so your house (apparently) stays on the cooler side of things.
Not 100% sure on how well that'll work, but we'll be giving it a go later.

Stay safe, everyone.
*ascii hugs*

Had the windows and curtains closed all day, seems a bit cooler that I thought it would be. 27 degrees indoors, 31 outside.

I've been indoors all day too - again with windows closed (from lunchtime) and curtains all day. I really feel the heat generally, but I've managed OK today so far.
