Revival of another Dead Franchise?

I bet they go through a similar loop as to a lot of similar ones recently, it works to re-build up the hype for them pretty well.

Have a trailer / release it as with a lot of controversial "wokeness" to stir the pot and make people get all uppity about it.

Then release a version that's more in-line with what is considered to be the "classic" series, and everyone's fairly happy / invested in the franchise again.

That's not what happened with the recent Kevin Smith He-Man series, by all accounts. His was advertised like the old series and turned into something completely different by all accounts (sorry, I've not actually seen it, but read lots of bad things about it!).

"The search for Sam" premise has been pretty much the standard since as long as the idea of a new series has been around.
I'm not expecting that to be the case.. For starters you can't have every episode be...
Act 1 : Is Sam here? No
Act 2 : OMG I have to fix something here, too, or I can't leap out?
Act 3 : I have done, now, and I will leap to a new place where I will begin my search for Sam once more.

Seems a bit.. Um.. what's the word..? Crap..?

The original premise was "We don't know why you're leaping.. But hopefully the next leap will be the leap home."
Journeyman similarly took a "I don't know why I'm 'journeying', but I can solve problems in the past, so I guess that's what I have to do." premise.

If the "team" are indeed "searching for Sam", and doing the leaping on purpose, then it'd be far too planned out. There wouldn't be a leap into a monkey, for starters.
I would hope that anything they do choose to do, will allow for unforeseen circumstances to arise, otherwise.. yeah, a bit crap.

Ben's first leap will be on NBC on Sept 19th.
No information as to how we'll see it over here, but NBC has a "Peacock" streaming service, which is currently only available as part of a Sky package, so...
Torrents?

|update| .. and they're remaking it again!! |update|

The original pilot was filmed on location, and is (/was!) a big earthquake centric episode.
They've been asked to change a couple of bits to help new-viewers enjoy it, so have had to rewrite a couple of chunks, but .. are no longer on location and can't afford to go back out and refilm the bits that would be necessary to do that.

.. So, um.. They're having to refilm the entire episode, and have had to rewrite the majority of the leap!!!

*tsk*

Apparently still aiming for Sept 19th, though.

Still no idea how we're getting this UK side, but if it does indeed come to NBC's Peacock, the only way to get that is through Sky/NowTV.

To get Peacock, you need a NowTV/Sky subscription, with the Entertainment package which is £9.99 a month.
Annoyingly, Paramount Plus+ is also available on NowSky, but you need the additional Cinema package which is also £9.99 a month
Paramount Plus+ on its own is only £6.99 a month, and considering I watch feck all in the Movie department, I'll probably end up doing the £9.99 Sky Entertainment, and the Paramount Plus+ on it's own..

And that's without Disney Plus+, where I only watched one episode of Orville Season 3 before my subscription ended..

Fuxake..

That is, of course, assuming it's even available in the UK on launch. If it isn't, then Torrents be it.

(Hmm.. I've pretty much repeated myself from an earlier post... Still pissed about all these damn subscriptions)

Additional : I've just learned that NowTV isn't Ad Free...!?! The check fuckers want another £5 to take out the adverts.
Jesus fucknuts.

Not to mention the £15.99 Netflix Family pack I share with my sister so she can watch stuff.
Electric and Gas are about to skyrocket, and I really shouldn't be subscribing to any more of these damned things.

Found This site which seems to list every one of the available subscription services.. My GOD, there's so many of them!!!!
It lists all available shows/movies on those services, and seems to be a good way of finding a particular show.

Under the new Quantum Leap, it says "Announced for UK" and "Coming Soon" and "September 19, 2022"
So..
I'm hopeful.
It just doesn't say where!!!

Under Original Quantum Leap, it lists all the places you can buy/stream the show.
This is definitely going to be a site in my Favourites, because I'm ALWAYS wondering where/how to watch things!

Some of that CGI looks incredibly ropey, but everything else look A.OK to me!

Episode One Watched!
Enjoyable, but maybe could've done with being a 2 hour.. a few things kinda got rushed through that definitely could've been done better if slowed down a little.
... having said that, I know there were issues with the original first episode (the earthquake) and everything had to be redone. If it were a two-hour, that probably would've been a hell of a lot harder to do.

Overall, though, a nice start.

Still no news on UK broadcast yet. If you're clicking anything like this link, and accessing the Syncopy file, do be aware of dodgy shit popping up, and probably use a VM or something.

Episode Two : \o/yeay\o/
Leap is more leap-like. Present is more Lore filled. Together the two worked well, though maybe a little "too" much present day stuff. Though, I expect that might've been for budgetary/sfx reasons

Episode Three : \o/yeay\o/ too.
Felt much more classic QL, since the episode wasn't pushing too hard in the budget/sfx department, so had much more of a classic pacing to the storyline.
Good stuff!
