InstantBird (To go with Thunderbird) is Mozilla's attempt at IM Software. So far it's.. Basic (!) But it does let you log into every IM server under the sun. I'm sure it'll grow, but for the meantime it's nothing special. Infact, Meebo's more fun, right now! -=-=- ''Load, Next List!''

I don't have accounts for other instant messaging clients, so I'm happy sticking with MSN.

Ive tried programs such as Pidgin(GAIM) and others that combine messenging programs but i seem to always go back to using the native programs for each IM.

I don't like any of AOL's products or services, but I agree the native messenger is usually the best. Often mixed ones are too basic and ugly, or have too many features and are still ugly. The messengers are very different to the browsers, and at first glance I don't expect this to become any more popular then Trillian. Maybe only more so because it has the Mozilla (and so FireFox) brand behind it. Saying that, I use FireFox for my internet and ThunderBird for my mail. So I might give this a go when it's a little more mature. It might also take off if the idea of plugins for a messenger program does work. It works for games and internet browsers, so I could see it working here too. |

Oh no, yet-another-instant-messenger! I'm not often bothered with them, but I use aMSN. It's a cross-platform, open source IM for the MSN protocol, with more features than the official MSN release (especially on the Mac) including webcam support. It even has plugins! Spellchecking, and my favorite - Eliza, an A.I. plugin to talk to your friends while you are away!

It seems kinda feature lacking at the moment. Most important of all, I'm not sure where my window went, it seemed to disappear 0_o... Some kind of taskbar icon would be helpful... Plus I don't like it when things like my buddy list take up space on my taskbar, I'd rather it either be hidden or only appear when i have the buddy list open, but otherwise disappear from my sight. I don't need to look at it that often.
