Bomb hits Oslo

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-14252515
Police has now confirmed that the explosion was caused by a bomb. There's at least 1 dead, but supposedly more (from what I saw on the news).
As much as it sucks to say this on a day like today, this is what we get for several years of agressive warfare abroad.

Back from work, so only just been reading all this on the BBC's site.
That's really messed up, and there's STILL no word on who could've done it yet.
.. fuck!

The shootings were just sickening. How awful.

Police has taken custody of a Norwegian right-wing extremist for the shootings, it is speculated that he was behind the bomb in Oslo as well. It's also speculated that he wasn't acting alone.
Through some sick twist of fate, it appears we've been "lucky" - we were attacked by one of our own, rather than a victim of our crimes abroad.

The latest I heard was 84 people shot on the island. Absolutely terrible. Not foreign islamist terrorists but some local extremist. Quite a shock. One doesn't normally associate extremism with a country like Norway.

Things are getting lots of news attention. How's the vibe over there? Can't be normal after all that..

I'm glad they aren't giving this guy media attention in court. Nothing will destroy his ego more than to be locked up and forgotten about. After reading accounts of what happened, I can only hope he receives harsh punishment for his horrendous crimes. Anyone who thinks someone else deserves to die based on their culture is scum.

No amount of war, police enforcement, or government control will ever rid psychopaths like this from the world. It's really unfortunate. Hateful radicalism is destroying the world.

Jay: The vibe has been... different. One of our biggest channels, TV2, sent newsbroadcasts uninterrupted from Friday to sometime on Monday (without commercial breaks), which is likely a new Norwegian record. Our public channel (owned by the government), NRK (Norwegian State Broadcaster) weren't far behind.
Practically all newspapers have been exclusively about the incident up until about Tuesday, and our two biggest newspapers, Dagbladet and VG, are still devoting a lot of pages.
I was in Oslo on Tuesday, and it was... covered with flowers (roses in particular) everywhere you went. It was wonderful.
