Croco Magneto

Remake of the classic CPC PD game

https://www.denathorn-games.net/?page_id=73
Screenshots
Remake of the classic public domain game that was released on the Amstrad CPC
(Via PD libraries as well as it featured on Amstrad Action cover tape)

Clear the game area of radiation while keeping out of the way of the nasty green blobs things.

Game requires a HTML5 compatible browser to run.

Latest Update

Slowed the ball down slightly when bouncing left and right... You may need to clear your browser cache to see the difference.

Cheers fella's!

I made this while waiting for my new iOS game to be approved... Came out well!

That's really good! Catchy tune, too. How did you do the sound? Was that pure HTML5 as well?

I'm really surprised by the good quality of this too (although 8-bit style games aren't really my thing). Excellent work!

Hey chaps... Sound is ripped from the original and is .mp3

This game was really the game that did it for me all of them years ago, when I programmed in Locomotive BASIC, it was the SYMBOL command for graphics.

Once I bought Croco from a PD Library and played it, Amstrad game dev became a different ball game and I ended up learning how to use machine code sprites for games... Totally made all the difference, though, my little games still ran like a slug in super glue!

I like it! Having never played the original, this is a completely new gameplay concept for me. It's like breakout adventure mode or something. The graphics are really nice too; I mean, they're simple, but they're consistent. I'm also impressed.

I managed to download the Amstrad version, Dabz seems pretty much identical apart from the title screen which includes a cheat-mode. It must have taken a lot of effort to do a remake so true to the original. You did a very good one there Dabz.

Looks like someone is trying to cash-in on the idea. www.iphonelife.com/vendor/SpaghettiStudios

It took three and a half days to make, with much of that actually pulling my hair out because it was the first time I used monkey!

I've currently got it grafting on Android too, just need to tweak it a little to suit mobile gameplay, because it needs to be pretty responsive!

I'll post the apk file when she's done to let you lot pour over!

Yeah, I know, I've spotted a few over the years, I think the biggest cheek was EcoBall:-

They want $15 for nigh-on an exact rip of the gameplay... Scoundrels!!!

Awesome remake!
Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Although I still preferred the Halloweeny game that popped up in the type-ins once. Little pumpkin doing the bouncing, and everything was much smaller, so you got to see a whole lot more onscreen.
