Petit Switch got a nice big update, today, with all manner of bug fixes, but also a whole host of new additions and upgrades, including new ways to search the online game collection with different sort types showing recent uploads and such. There's also tags that you can add to your games for genres, whether it supports toy-cons, multiplayer, etc..
Plenty of underplaying tweaks, a massive update to the way default objects (sounds, sprites, etc) are displayed in the F9 doohickey, and also a really big upgrade to the look of the default Sprite editor tool, too. (Although, if I'm honest, the new interface is a teensy bit too small for onscreen figure pointing)

All in all, a nice big update.
.. and I don't think any of my games broke!!!

Can you not import sfx? Are you stuck with using stock sfx?

There are "ways"... But nothing easy. You can't exactly drag'n'drop a wav to a Nintendo device!!

The obvious method is to somehow get waveform data, convert it to something typeable, and bit by bit type it in..
No thanks!!

You can generate waveforms, but those aren't really proper samples unless you make a really complicated waveform!

So, yeah, I'll stick with the inbuilt sounds.

I did add a kind-of "Baaaaa!" when he gets spiked, using a trumpet instrument, and a set of quick-short notes..
That gives the right sort of effect..!

How do sprites work, is it a built in image editor? perhaps drawing sound data would be easier and quicker than typing it?

There's also the camera of the JoyCon.
I considered making a "screen flashes data, JoyCon picks it up" way of doing it.
.. but am far too busy making 4 games a week, here!!!!

If you have a Japanese account, you can now download a demo version of Petit Com 4.
It has no save functionality.

It WILL let you download any particular people's games, if you can possibly think of any, but you can only download one, every 8 hours.

Spot the AGameAWeek game! Petit Clampett gets about a second of screentime

Meanwhile, the first compo has appeared. I'm currently trying to get clarification on what the theme is, because every time I translate the single-word, it's coming up slightly differently.

Theme

シュッ

Translation from @kunihisa_ogawa
シュッ is an onomatopoeic word pronouncing "shu" and is used to describe something going through the air like an arrow, spray, etc. In western Japan, it is also used to describe someone thin, handsome, etc. It is a little vague even in Japanese, but I hope my explanation helps...

From 4Gamer.net, RE Petit Clampett

A work by JNK who lives in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. It is an action game that you can clear the stage by manipulating characters that can be jumped and ceiling mounted, and collecting a certain number of coins in the automatically generated maize. Mr. JNK is a heavy user of petitcon and publishes new works once a week. It seems that there is no time to make one work at such a high pace, but it is still amazing that it is a "playable" work. You can feel the good sense of "creating a game that can be played by combining few elements".
