I have a vague idea in mind, but between trying to get SpikeVent ready, and the new puzzle site, I just haven't had any time.

Though, if I hadn't played about 12 hours of No Man's Sky this week, that may also have helped...

I ended up spending this weeknd sewing, gymming and enjoying the Formula 1 and making big mac boigers from as close to scratch as I like.

Pro tip, homemade burger sauce:

2 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp mustard
6 tbsp mayo
1 tbsp picalilli
Half a red onion cut into fine cubes
Salt
Pepper

mix it all together in a lil bowl and boom, the finest big mac sauce, nyom!

Does that count for metabolising? Sorta? add some green food colouring and it'd probably look like snot, ha!

Add some simple enemies maybe, when you hit em, their corpse stays on screen for a while, hit it again and it explodes in 4 ways at you. The electrodes move left to right and fire with a slight warning. At least, that's the idea.

There's cake which you can collect in a certain order to gain more points, the faslhing green and red one would enable a score multiplier of some sort.

Well, the sprites are readied in my sprite editor of choice, I doubt I'll be near complete in any which way by the end of the month but I'll see how Wed day goes I guess, gonna have the coffee machine on standby!

Essentially, don't expect anything polished, it's going to be a crazy day of ASM

Yep, he's a sticky booger. He'll travel around the screen turning blocks green and rescuing little snotlings. Well, that's the idea...

Changed the player into a more animateable lil blocky fella.



Gonna call it quits for tonight and figure out how to contain these enemies randomness a bit more tomorrow. Perhaps if they hit a border wall they should adjust their target position again or maybe just return to the centre with an element of rng applied, it could make things a bit more wave based. Half the speed of the enemies as a whole for an easy mode perhaps, but that'll likely stretch into December.

But yeah, overall, I'm fairly happy with the progress made today.

For those of you who are curious 10873 / 32768 bytes have been used and 8192 of that 10873 is just for graphics which I can't opt out from using for that, there might be a game loop ready over the weekend but I doubt I'll have time for a soundtrack although, the ai generator Jay posted a lil while might be handy for some inspiration perhaps.

One way I've found for adding randomness.
Give each enemy a targetX,targetY variable, and at random intervals set it to PlayerX+rnd(),PlayerY+rnd(), then aim for that instead of directly towards the player.
