Socoder -> On Topic -> Capturing Video

I could "Almost" do this on the Intel/NVidia system, so when I got the higher spec'd AMD/ATI system, I figured it'd just plod along and be happy.

But for some inexplicable reason, where the Intel/NVidia can just about capture 30fps video of my games, with crappily out of sync audio, the AMD/ATI one can't even manage 12!

Seriously! WTF's with that!?!

So, yet again, I've found myself hunting the net, trying to find a Video Capture program that's Just Right..

No luck so far, but I have stumbled upon Taksi.
Taksi's an Opensource version of Fraps, that seems quite good at what it does.

It has an option that enables slowdown in your games. Sounds odd, but does it's job.

Whilst you play, it grabs frames, and if the encoder can't quite keep up it actually slows down your game so that it can.
This means that when you play it back, you're getting every frame, exactly as intended.
JNKPlat's a little awkward to play when it's slowing down like that, but it's giving me much better videos as a result.
And that's great!

Shame there's no audio, though. Dangit..

What other options are there? What do you use?

You could try recording with Audacity simultanously and then mixing the audio and video back together.

Alot of gamers also use Fraps for capturing game video. It's another solution you could try.
