Im new, if anyone knows any good homebrew games/apps i'd like to know about them. What is the official name for a device that plays homebrew? I'd like to know. (I bought my first one yesterday.)

Why, What did you buy?

There's lots of things that'll happily play Homebrew nowadays, DS and PSP with "tweaks", specifically designed hardware like Pandora and Hydra, and even iPhones and X360 will play homebrew once the brew's been submitted through the various legal routes. Or you could mod/hack them and open them up fully.

And then there's always computer systems. Although most people don't count software on your PC/Mac as being Homebrew, instead referring to it as Freeware/Shareware/whatever. It's all the same, though!

Hey Afr0, what is the popularity of Zune, I've never met a person that owns one yet. They all seem to be into iPhone and SmartPhones !

Another question... I know that you can develop stuff with XNA on the classic Zune, but does XNA work with Zune-HD ?

Pretty much any electronic gaming device has homebrew on it at this point in time.

The GP2X is open-source and designed for homebrew.
There are also emulators available for a lot of other systems.

On the BBC's click program (www.bbc.co.uk/click/) they discussed several mobile gaming applications; one of which was the Wiz which is meant have its own app store that is meant to be open-source.

I'm not sure if this helps.

I too have wondered how you made Homebrew games for DS, WII, etc -- or whether there was a SDK kit for it etc.

DevKitPro can be used for all manner of things, from DS to Gamecube, Wii and even PSP.
Apparently!
I've only ever used it for DS, though.
