What your Greatest Achivement in Video games?

Umm... are you talking in terms of games we've made? Or games we've played and gotten so very far on?

Just thought I'd clarify the topic.

I completed Manic Miner without losing a life, back in the 80's that is.

One life - live it

Ahhhh Double internet thread!

*Quick copy/paste*

Completing each Dizzy game on the Amstrad CPC.

My name at the top of the Pac-land highscore screen.

Completing Mario 1 and 3 (I hated Mario 2)... I also completed Sonic 1,2 and 3, but it wasnt the same.

I was hooked on the original Tomb Raider on the auld station... And I put a mammoth session in to complete it and once I cracked it... I was over the moon!

Beating my mate at Fifa in a pre-pub league (To win the league), he was nigh-on a pro and he used to throttle me and some mates.

Amonst others!

Um, I'm really rubbish at finishing off games. I'm usually too busy coding to get more than midway, then move onto the next big game once that appears.
So, the fact that I actually bothered to play through Mario 64 on the DS was quite an achievement!

I was proud of my character on Diablo II. I had a necromancer... I think I got it up to like level 74 before I drifted away from it. I just couldn't beat Baal (in the expansion) on the second difficulty level. Leveling up got me only so far.

Then I started fooling around with a character editor...

Yeah, only pussies bring a gun to a gunfight.

Then you haven't watched 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'.
Indy faces an Arab fighter ready to slash him with a sword, and then he just turns, stares and shoots him.

hmm.. well recently i was bored at work and beat RE1 on hard in under 5 hours. It's easier when you've played it like a million times, things become impulse and you don't spend your time hunting ink ribbons to save

My instinct took me to the very same game, only it was on Richard Nobel's re-make 10 years ago. Not so much finishing the game on one life but playing it so much I went and started a web-page on it but never took the how-to beyond the first level... like Jay, I'm crap at finishing games and in this case projects in general

I would link you to it but... it looks like both my personal site (with the Manic Miner pages) and my Forklift Fred site have been locked due to "abuse" without me knowing!?

I'm sure I've done other things but that's what springs to mind.

I recently completed Dune 2. It only took me a little over 15 years.

I think some of my funnest moments in playing video games has to be when playing with friends, not beating games all the way through. A group of my friends and family played games on a semi-regular basis for a long while. We first started with Golden Eye on N64, then later played Perfect Dark, then TimeSplitters 2 & 3 on PS2, then FarCry on Xbox360. Its amazing what kind of fun we can have competing against each other. My uncle says he has fun just watching all of us duke it out from splitscreen. There have been quite a few memorable occasions, too.

One time on FarCry I was hunting someone who was laying down to stay out of site. Out of nowhere an ATV came up over the hill and leveled me, even though I had a rocket launcher in my hand about to fire. A split second more and I could have at least gotten off with a kill, but no such luck.

We've had a lot of other close-call matches and such. It just stinks that my work schedule doesn't let me get to my cousin's parties anymore.

I came SO close to completing a level on my super hard/impossible card game...

I really must make an easy version of it.
If anyone else wants to try, grab it from my website.
