About 4 posts for 2 or 3 days, vs over 30 today.
You want to argue that that's a pointless gimmick, you can go right ahead..


In my opinion the forum is generally sluggish until an interesting topic is posted. (Like this one.) I don't think this new feature has much to do with the increase in posting, except for the fact that it's interesting to talk about.

This new feature is fun and it was creative, but I do agree with others that it isn't something thats going to help encourage posting.

 		I probably should split it up, but it's one of those "Never got around to it" type things.. Although, that particular section is at least split up.. Case : Include : Function call : Break is nice and short! It's just the rest of the script that's not as neat

The selection thing's a nice idea.. I'll probably do that!

 		I wouldn't be surprised if this gimmick, or whatever we call it, starts spreading to other sites; especially since many sites already have that comment ranking system deal already. Of course, with its propensity for encouraging silly one-liners, THIS gimmick will grow and grow, becoming worse than that awful spam factory, "post count". It'll spread through the internet like a plague, breathing death into once productive forums.

Thanks Jay, for harolding the internet apocalypse. Anyway, I think it's an interesting idea and will probably be a success, though I'm probably opting out.
