JL235	I've just finished FF12 and one of my main complaints is that it didn't feel like a proper console RPG. It's more a dungeon crawler with excuses given to raid each dungeon in turn. I normally love Final Fantasy games because of their in-depth plot (even FF9), and I'm in a mood for playing another RPG (one that is also heavy on plot and characters). So what would people here recommend? Or just what are some of your favourite RPGs?

HoboBen	Try Gorasul: The Legacy of the Dragon. It's about £10 on Amazon, it's fairly old but you wouldn't know it; it comes on four CDs and is really beautiful. In fact, I think the heaviness on the plot and characters was a bit overwhelming; it is brutal without a walk-through for every step and every searched cupboard (though not necessary for a lot of fun!) so at a certain point I got a bit overwhelmed and stopped playing! It's something different, really. My favourite RPG of all time would be Might and Magic VI, but it won't work on anything later than Windows 98, and from my experience won't work even in a virtual machine. Released in 1998, it's still entirely enjoyable today, with superb graphics. -=-=- blog \| work \| code \| more code

mole	I love Neverwinter Nights. Not sure it has an awful lot of character development, but it does have a plot.

waroffice	Dragon age is an attempt to recreate the Baldursgate/Icewind dales reign at the top of the RPG league. Nothing comes close in my opinion. Dragon age is ok and does become a little same-y after a while. I have tried to find a replacement for the older forgotten realms games and never have. Neverwinter was a good effort from blackisle but never really grabbed me. The escalon book I and II are good little 2D numbers but if you want 3D you can't go wrong with Elderscrolls IV :oblivion. If you want a little twist Fallout 3 is the same engine just with a different story I too loved the Might and Magic series games and spent most of my youth playing RPGs, one i still go back too is Diablo 2, its such a well made game and very replayable even if it is just to find that Cow King armour. WoW has next to no story line and for me was just a grinder.
