Does that have VR capabilities?

Dunno. Don't think so but I don't have a VR doodar anyway.

Traded in my old F1 2016 (will never play again), Call of Duty Black Ops 3 (hated it) and Overwatch (never played as you can only play it online).

Game have ditched their loyalty card thing now and replaced it with a phone app. Pretty neat as you can scan your games and instantly get a trade-in price. The app has a QR code in it that the shop scans and you get/use reward points that way.

Oh yeah, it was Dabz that got the VR, recently. Sorry!

Haven’t been into a Game shop in a long long time.

I wanted to buy Overwatch a while ago with the free weekend but the game kept crashing. It was a violent crash also. The screen kept freezing randomly with a loud noise and I needed to reboot. I also needed to keep the power down for ten seconds because the screen kept flickering if I turned it on to fast.

I really liked Overwatch. It had been a while since I played such a good shooter. It was the pc version btw.

My son is OverWatch mad. Plays it pretty much every spare moment - in between MineCraft, Roblox and Terraria.

None of these games appeal to me. He is not my son

Oh, I also got an Xbox One controller. Bloke looked at me a bit weird buying that with a PS4 game. Going to need it for gamedev though as I only have a couple of shitty generic ones.

Is XBone controller any better?
Might get one to replace the old 360 I use when dev'ing.

Hey, I’ve got one of those....
It's sat next to that white unused box under the telly.

Mine isn't a "proper" one but it's a licenced product - Power A brand. Same, but half the price.

Feels OK to me but I wouldn't say there's any difference between this and an X360 one. The offset thumbsticks feel weird but that's only cos I'm used to the symmetry of the PS4 controller.

Oh, and it's wired with a 9.8ft cable. Official XBone ones are wireless. But for what I need it for, wired is just the job.

Is the game any good? I recall you bagging older versions...

I've only ever played one F1 game where I played for hours and that was Formula One Grand Prix on the Amiga.

I haven't played it yet. Yeah I do have lots to say about the F1 games - they aren't without their faults and there's some bloody show-stoppers in there, and I particularly don't like how Codemasters release a new F1 game, release a couple of updates, then completely abandon it to work on F1 2018.

That said, they're my most-played PS4 games, most-played X360 games, most-played PS2 games, most-played PS1 games. While there might be bugs, I can still appreciate the achievement of getting something to feel that realistic and be that absorbing.

Which brings me onto Geoff Crammond's F1 Grand Prix. Even on a 68020 it wasn't that fast, nor was it much to look at. Obviously the cars/teams went out of date but then a guy called Oliver Roberts made F1GP Editor, which let you modify the whole thing to update teams, cars and drivers. Gave it a shitload of longevity.

Just too tired after today to play F1 2017 but I might get around to it tomorrow night, hopefully. Especially interested in looking at some of the older cars they've included, as well as overhauling the car upgrade system and having a go with the wider/faster 2017 cars. Can't really go wrong for £6.

Found a sodding bug already!

When I finish practice 1 and start practice 2, the tyres I used in P1 aren't returned and I can still use them (although they're still worn).

Hopefully last nights update will fix this....

That's not a bug, that's a thing that can (and does) happen in F1

Mine's doing it now. Little 'un had a game on F1 2017 earlier. Automatic gears, like, but she give it a bloody good go. Think she'll be better suited to GT Sport (release imminent) as the cars don't go as fast.

So just chucked the PS4 into rest mode and left it to it.
