someone here might be able to answer this.

I trying to use chkdsk and I need to enter my admin privileges even though I'm on as an administrator.
What do I need to do to get at the other account so that I can log in with the other password.
I cannot find the login prompt for that one.
It's under windows 7

I don't understand. If your admin then what is the issue with entering your password?

The solution is probably to disable UAC, but I suspect you are not actually admin on your account. I can run chkdsk on my PC without requiring a password.

That's what I thought but it gives the message 'you do not have permissions to access that disk.
I can the other ones but not the c: or the d:

Running everything as root by default would be really bad.

Quit posting and try Google.

So does the new system 7 block more access to your resources because of this nuance than the other versions of windows?
