<b><i>Go Team</i></b> <--- seriously an answer for my Comp. Sci. assignment worth four marks. FFS.

Glad I never had anything like that in the CS program before I left it. That said, there were plenty of other issues — enough to make me go my own way in terms of CS education.

I've been pinching learning material from other universities!

<strong><em>Go Team</em></strong> might have been better, depending on the question, as <b> and <i> are for visual decoration only and provide no indication the the browser that they should be used as emphasis for such things as screen readers.

The question may have been, "Show an example of a markup language"

By now, if it were me not understanding a Jibberish assignment, I would have called the college tutor and said: "Oi, you!... What the **** is this supposed to mean!?". That's what college tutors are there for.

I would have just answered: "A statement that is displayed as bold/italic, to indicate that someone is encouraging or egging-on a team in a positive way". I would also have added: "An exclamation mark would have also been appropriate in the case of the content within the <i></i> tags".

Anything web related, is still horribly out dated, and mostly irrelevant, in Universities. It's a real shame.

It's a real shame.

No it isn't. It means someone in the system realized cloud computing sucks and took the consequence

Web development has very little to do with cloud computing.

The actual problem is that most of the content at universities, is years out of date. For most modules, this is a non-issue. Cryptography, networks, AI, algorithms and data-structures; these are areas which have taken decades to develop.

Web development however changes drastically, year on year. If a cyptography module is 10 years out of date, it's a non-issue, as the mathematical foundations will be the same (at undergraduate level). If a web development module is 10 years out of date, it's teaching the latest in IE 6.

I can't imagine it's all too easy trying to keep a syllabus up to date, though. You have to look at it from their point of view.
They teach what they expect you to need from Day One.
By the time you're even up to Day Three, Web Dev has moved on!!
It's not really their fault, but there does need to be some sort of movable goalpost, as opposed to the set-in-stone methodology that's currently in place.

... Dear god, I'm sounding more like Greenie every day!!

Did you know, it requires the data from two standard Punched Cards to fill a tweet!?

That'll teach me to read properly, I didn't realise that <b><i>Go Team</i></b> was an answer, I mistook it for the actual question. *Wotta Donut*.

I wonder what would happen if you put the answer as this:-

Question 1.0: You are writing a webpage template, how would you format the text "Go Team" into bold AND italic? [3 points]

Answer: www.rent-acoder.com/

Think of it on the bright side. At the average college over here it would probably have been:

<B><I>GO TEAM</B>
