Found what looks to be the right chip programmer on ebay for the low price of just £4.44

But it might require mapping pins to a breadboard so I picked up a lil breadboard kit also, looking forward to Wednesday and learning some more basic electronics stuff

Perhaps Spinal could lend a hand? He seems to be a master at getting electronic things working.

Right, so,I soldered the chip on, bunged it in the NES only to get that gray blinking screen of something's not right.

Aftera fair bit of wandering I realized I'd written to the wrong area of the CIC chip, to the flash memory, not the EEPROM, curses!!

So, tomorrow I'll learn how to desolder a compnent and replace it with a fresh one! (When you write to the the fuses on these chips they are effectively set in stone so)

Here we go!

So, had a quick soldering lesson from a friend today, he looked at the carts I soldered and noticed a few flaws in them under the microscope, so I re-soldered one and he did the other one, now hopefully, one of them will work in his NES.

Also, noticed and fixed a couple of bugs in the code today.

Whew! Sorted out the rest of the scrolling text for the ending just now, time to decide whether to focus on a bit more animation in the ending or on sorting the rest of the music out for it.

Wed NES day seems to be my day for coding games again at the moment

@ Steve - LOL

My laptop sometimes misses button presses (honestly - it's not just my crap typing!).

Numbers are the worst (especially 8), but sometimes letters too. I blame dog hair (shit loads of dog hair) and other random crap. And crumbs. From cakes. Mmmmmmmmm... cake!

Might do if possible, currently transcoding the ending song you sent over a while ago into the ending sequence. Will fire you over a build when it's looking a bit more complete.

So, got the ending sequence music playing, but it's a bit off tempo (either too quick or too slow) and I can't quite control it with any great granularity.

Gonna try adding the noise channel to see if I can bring it together with that one.
